Testimonials

In a world saturated with diluted teachings and those who only appear to teach yoga, Kayla is the real deal—a rare gem for anyone called to walk the true homecoming path. Rooted in lineage, her offerings carry a depth and integrity that's much needed and hard to find.

I appreciate the breadth of offerings [in her Patreon library] (meditations! asana practices! philosophy!); the freedom to mix and match sessions in one sitting to suit whatever I may need at the moment; and of course, the joy of discovering and returning to favourite practices. Kayla's warm, open, and responsive to questions—making the student experience feel genuinely supported.

Her work is soulful, joyful, and offered directly from the heart. Even through a screen and in an asynchronous format, I *know* I’m held with deep care—something I’ve felt more strongly here than in many in-person yoga spaces I’ve experienced over the years.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I had a call with Kayla about creative practice and after our call, ideas just came pouring in! The playlist she provided for me has helped a lot, I’m so inspired! And the practices, and contemplations — I think I’m starting to develop a style!

I have a collection of Kayla’s paintings and they have helped me work through feelings of sadness, anxiety, disappointment, anger, peace, joy, and happiness. I have become more vulnerable with myself and am laying bare all I feel without fear or judgement or shame. I have built a more loving relationship with myself & the world around me.

I’ve been meditating for 20 years, taking “yoga” classes for 15, and done RYT 200. I’ve had some teachers with incredible depth and subtlety in their asana teaching, but none that touch Kayla’s level of spirituality. It’s been healing and a privilege to practice with her. Thank you Kayla for sharing your light, and bringing me back to mine.— Shawn

Kayla is an exceptional yoga instructor and an incredible source of wisdom and strength. As someone who has practiced yoga for a considerable amount of time, I can confidently say that Kayla stands out among the rest. Each session with her is filled with a profound sense of depth, leaving you feeling more connected to both yourself and the world around you.

Personally, as a therapist, I find solace and healing in Kayla's yoga classes, as they serve as my own form of therapy. The grounding nature of her practices has led me to enthusiastically recommend her to numerous colleagues and family members, all of whom share the same deep admiration for Kayla.

Lastly, it is impossible to overlook her beautiful soul, which emanates kindness, calmness, and a complete absence of judgment.

I attended Kayla’s classes once a week over a period of 5-6 months when she was teaching in Thunder Bay. Kayla has helped me explore and appreciate my own body far beyond the purely physical experience of holding poses. I greatly appreciated the way she would check in with us before every class, and fine tune our experience to best support us with wherever we were at that day.

Not once did I feel like I was merely going through a predetermined set of routines as I’d sometimes felt with others in the past. During class, I felt that Kayla’s attunement to both collective and individual energies in the room was exceptional. She would offer perfectly-timed cues that gently guided my attention towards different sensations arising in my body, in a way that often made me feel like I was the only student in her class.

When it came to holding poses, her guidance and instructions were extremely accommodating and inclusive of all body-types and experience levels, while also inviting us to push and connect with our own strengths as needed.

Another aspect of her classes that I deeply appreciated was the way she would invite us to acknowledge the long line of yogis who have practiced in the lineage for thousands of years. Over time, even as a relative beginner to yoga, this simple acknowledgment of gratitude made me feel like I wasn’t just practising in a bubble; rather, I felt a connection to an ancient, sacred practice and its practitioners stretching back across time. I left every one of Kayla’s classes feeling so much more than just physically revitalized - I felt calmer, more grounded, more attuned with my own emotions, and had greater clarity about progressing along my own healing journey. I feel incredibly privileged to have experienced this physical, emotional and spiritual growth, while deepening my relationship with yoga, in just a few months of practising with her.

I have taken a number of workshops with Kayla and I keep coming back for more. She has a real depth of knowledge and experience that makes her classes really powerful. She has helped me move my practice from the physical to the spiritual and emotional. I find healing in every class and always leave a little bit calmer than before.

I have been practicing yoga for nearly 20 years and have never had a teacher who so beautifully combines movement practice with spiritual teachings. I have learned so much about how to deepen into the peace within myself and have opened up to learning about the tantric tradition.

Kayla is very good at explaining complex ideas in plain and deeply personal language, and has helped me to better understand the wisdom of tantric yoga. Her generosity shows itself time and again when she shares resources, teachings, poems, and just takes the time to chat through an idea after practice.

Kayla has opened my eyes to a wider world of yoga beyond the asanas usually taught in most studios. She has inspired me to learn more about the history of yoga and the real teachings of yogis and spiritual leaders in the past.
